Heather is a contemporary landscape painter based in Hertfordshire. Her paintings are rooted in the natural beauty she encounters during her daily walks and morning runs through the countryside. She exhibits in Cheltenham, Surrey, Hertfordshire and various art shows including the prestigious Fresh Art Fairs in London and Cheltenham.
Heather seeks to express the atmosphere and emotions of being immersed in nature, whether it is a walk by a river or running through woods. The experience of sketching and painting has the effect of helping her to see and feel the wonder of the world we live in. In this way each piece is an intuitive and heartfelt response to the landscape and the calm and solace that it brings. Her hope is that each time you return to her work you’ll uncover something new whether it’s an intriguing detail or a feeling that deepens your connection to the subject.
She views the drama evoked by the play of colour and light as central to her work, not just as visual elements but as pathways to lift the spirit and foster a sense of peace. In a busy world, she likes to think of her paintings as a quiet place to rest—a chance to pause, reflect, and connect and to bring those qualities into the home.
Heather began painting seriously in 2001 after moving to Abu Dhabi with her family. The dramatic change in culture and scenery ignited a creative spark, and she knew she had to paint. When she returned to the UK, she met the late Caroline Hulse at the JoeDaisy Studio, who became her mentor, encouraging her to take risks and grow as an artist. It was a transformative period in her development.
In 2016, she was invited to teach at JoeDaisy Studio, and since then, she has shared her passion for art by running workshops and demonstrations to Art Societies and Groups across the UK. Today, apart from a few individual students, she is winding down her teaching to focus more on creating new work and commissions.
