Description:

The model is slightly ill at ease in her posture. She's confused and self conscious of her nakedness, shying from view and maintaining her dignity as much as possible in her growing feeling of shame, discomposure, inadequacy and even humiliation. Though unnecessarily so, as true beauty need never be hidden. Nevertheless, there's a general indication of her embarrassment as she hides her fluster.

"God could cause us considerable embarrassment by revealing all the secrets of nature to us: we should not know what to do for sheer apathy and boredom."

Both the model and the vibrant abstract background are painted entirely with a knife. A high level of contrast is provided and the colours made extremely rich, bold and lustrous, thus creating a very contemporary feel overall.
